Like money, politics is (are?) a tool of the world – not needed in the spiritual realm. Political spin is taking an element of truth and twisting it to use it the way someone wants. Like a serpent in a garden saying, “Did God not say…” or a devil in a wilderness saying, “it is written…”

John 8:31-32 says IF you plant yourself in the Word, then you’ll be able to discern what is truth and what is lie. Then you have the tools to choose to live according to the truth and be free from the lie. But you still have to choose.

Adam and Eve did not eat from the tree of knowledge. They ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But just like a textbook is full of knowledge about something, you don’t get the knowledge unless you crack the book – and maybe go to a practical lab, too.

This election season may God give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of the One who seated Christ far above all political parties and governments, and above every name on the ballot (Ephesians 1:17-21).
