All dice are numbered the same. If I see a 1 on a die, you see a 6. If I see a 2, you see a 5. It all depends on your POV – your point of view.
It’s been said you can prove anything you want based on the Bible.
An eye for an eye (Leviticus 24;19-21). But turn the other cheek (Matthew 5:38-39).
Sell everything and give to the poor (Matt 19:21). But if a man doesn’t work, he doesn’t eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10).
Desire the milk of the word (1 Peter 2:2). But you shouldn’t be on milk (Hebrews 5:12).
God looked at His creation and saw that it was good (Genesis 1:31); and He even cares about the birds of the air (Matt 6:26). But He gave man dominion over His creation (Gen 1:28); and mankind is of more value than the birds (Matt 6:26).
When you go to an art museum and get too close to impressionist art, you see a bunch of brush strokes. If you step back, you get a better understanding of the whole picture. Some years ago, Magic Eye books and posters came out. For example, if you focused at the page, you saw a bunch of different colored fish; but if you focused your eyes a few inches past the page, you might see a 3D image of the Statue of Liberty.
Are there lots of gory details in the Old Testament? Yes. Did God let lots of people die? Yes. Does that mean God is mean? No.
The big picture shows God is good and loving. He wants the best for His creation. To see the real GOD you need the right POV. Perspective matters. A scientist sees a maze; the rat only sees walls. That’s why you have to look at all of Scripture; not just a verse or two.
As I said, when we’re on opposite sides of a die, I see a 1 when you see a 6. But if you want to find THE One, you need to look at the One who died for you.
