During almost 40 years in the commercial credit side of Risk Management, I learned that Risk Management requires Faith. Risk management is preparing for things that haven’t happened yet. Faith is the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). We have risk management at work. What about risk management at home? What must we prepare for, since we don’t battle against flesh and blood? Just as there are sins of omission and sins of commissions – things we should do that we don’t; things we shouldn’t do that we do – some attacks come from the enemy, but some come from reaping what we have sown. Have you sown words of doubt? Do you confess that you, or someone else, will never amount to anything? Do you say you can’t afford to do something? Proverbs 18:21 tells us both death and life are in the power of the tongue. Today choose life for your mouth.
